STANDARDS

IEC 60076

The reference standard for power transformers, mainly used in Europe, Africa and Asia. All 50 Hz transformers are built to this standard.

EN 60079

The reference standard for equipment installed in “ATEX” explosive atmospheres. celduc® transfo has developed a unique body of expertise in power transformers for explosive atmospheres.

IEEE C57.12.00

The reference standard for power transformers mainly used in North and South America. celduc® transfo has the same expertise in the IEEE standard as in the IEC standard. All 60 Hz transformers are built to this standard.

EUROPEAN DIRECTIVES

ATEX

The EN 60079 ATEX standard was made  mandatory in the European Union by Directive 2014/34/EU. As a European company manufacturing in Europe, celduc® transfo is able to self-certify its transformers so that they benefit from CE/Ex marking for use in explosive areas.

Ecodesign

Regulation (EU) 548/2014, known as the Ecodesign Regulation was made mandatory within the European Union by Directive 2009/125/EC. This Regulation imposes a set of dimensioning requirements on power transformers with the aim of improving the energy performance of transformers. celduc® transfo is able to self-certify its transformers so that those installed within the European Union benefit from CE marking.

CERTIFICATIONS

ATEX – IECEx

To meet its customers’ specific requirements, celduc® transfo works with leading certification bodies (INERIS, QPS, DEKRA, etc.) to produce individual or type certificates according to the ATEX standard and its harmonised international variant IECEx.

Field Evaluation

Compliance for “IEEE projects” (mainly for applications in North America, and in contrast to “IEC projects”, which form the general framework) is validated by UL laboratories as part of a type certification based on the IEEE and UL 508 general standards. There is no specific UL standard for oil-cooled transformers.

UL

For individual equipment not covered by type certification, compliance with general IEEE standards can be validated by a Field Evaluation carried out by an independent body.

Marine

celduc® transfo transformers supply the electric propulsion systems of numerous cruise liners and military ships all over the world. These transformers meet the standards of the main marine classification societies (Lloyd’s Register, RINA, BV, DNV, etc.) and are certified by these bodies. celduc® transfo is the world’s leading expert in marine propulsion transformers.
